Writing in for Wicked! Part Two? |
The first story I wrote with Paul Jennings Wicked! was originally published in six parts as six short books. Then it was released in one big fat six-in-one volume, which is how youll find it in most bookshops today. (Usually on the shelf, but sometimes propping open the door.) Recently an exciting discovery was made in the Penguin Books warehouse. Some unsold copies of the original short books, previously thought to be extinct, were discovered hiding up the back behind a tall but very thin pile of diet cookbooks. Thanks to Penguins generosity, some of these rare and precious short volumes have come into my possession. So it is with great pleasure that I offer a Free Signed Book ... Wicked! Part Two. Yes, Part Two. Unfortunately Part One must have sold out because we couldnt find a single copy in the warehouse, not even when we lifted up the carpet and looked down the back of the fridge in the tea room. Obviously Part Two isnt much good without Part One, so you can now read the whole of Part One on this site. Heres what you do to get a FREE SIGNED COPY of Wicked! Part Two:
My Free Signed Book Helpers will post you a copy of Wicked! Part Two as quickly as they're able. Sometimes it takes them a few weeks, but thatll give you plenty of time to read Part One. The FSB Helpers tell me that a small but noticeable number of people who write in for the free book don't completely understand the business with the envelope. Instead of putting the stamped self-addressed envelope inside a second envelope addressed to us, they put all the stamps on the second envelope and post that. Which means the helpers have nothing to post the book back in. I'm sure you can see the flaw in that method, so I won't harp on it, but the helpers did ask me to mention it. A word of warning. After youve finished reading Parts One and Two of Wicked!, you may feel a powerful urge to read Parts Three, Four, Five and Six. The only way youll be able to do that is to get the six-in-one volume from a bookshop or library. If thats something you might not be able to do, please think very carefully before you write in for Part Two. I hate the idea of anyone spending the rest of their life roaming the planet, a forlorn and tragic figure, begging people to tell them how Wicked! ends. A word of warning also for people who live in other countries. The Australian post office says that airmail postage for the book to just about anywhere in the world is about $10 Australian. If you send the FSB Helpers $10 Australian and a self-addressed C5 envelope, they'll send you a FREE SIGNED COPY of Wicked! Part Two, but I should point put that when the Part Two book was on sale in bookshops it cost only about half that much, so your copy won't be quite as free as some. Sorry.
