G'day #21    12 September 2001

G'day.

Sorry I've been a bit slack with the Most Asked Questions over the last couple of months. It's what happens when an author's finishing off a book. Everything else gets ignored. You should see my fridge. There's milk in there that's growing hair. And my TV thinks the electricity's been cut off. And the cats are so sick of waiting to be fed they've started cooking for themselves.

I've almost finished the new book, though. By the end of September Toad Heaven will be off to the printer and en route to the shops on 1 December. For those of you've who've read ToadRage, Toad Heaven is more adventures of Limpy, Goliath, Charm and the flat rellies. For those of you who haven't, don't worry, you can read Toad Heaven first if you want and catch up with Toad Rage later.

The October G'day will, I promise, include answers to many of the questions that have come in via email over recent weeks. I'll also be including some of the more spectacular questions I was asked on my recent schools tour. I visited 44 schools in August in Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and Sydney (which is the other reason I've been a bit slack with the Most Askeds) and some of the questions were amazing.

For now, though, a quick reminder of something else. In last month's G'day I mentioned how I'm planning to make a new video at the end of the year – The Morris Gleitzman How To Write Video. I'm keen to hear from any of you who are having problems with your writing – getting started, getting finished, the middle bit, anything at all. Send me an email and tell me about it. Teachers too – any problems your young writers are having. Let me know and I'll try and make the video as helpful as possible.

Until next month, oo-roo and happy reading,

Morris
