G'day #80    25 September 2006

G'day.

Today is the publication day of my new book Doubting Thomas, and I know I should be telling you excitedly about the quality of the paper (medium), the quality of the ink (excellent) and the quality of the writing (somewhere between the paper and the ink). But the truth is, rather than you hanging around here, I'd much rather you were on the Doubting Thomas page reading chapter one and starting to get to know Thomas for yourself.

So ...

Until next time, oo-roo and happy chapter one reading,

Morris

Wait a sec, hang on, before you go there is something else. As you gaze at the cover of Doubting Thomas, please take special note of the excellent artwork by Andrew Weldon and the excellent design work by Debra Billson. And as you read chapter one, please also take special note of the excellent editing by Christine Alesich and the excellent publishing by Laura Harris. I'm very grateful to them all. Really their names should all be on the cover, but they aren't because that wouldn't leave enough room for mine.

Plus, if you like listening instead of reading, or doing both, the audio version of Doubting Thomas will be released by Bolinda Audio in the next few weeks. And the audio of me reading chapter one will be here on the site pretty soon.

Oh, there is one other thing. If you want to know more about the story of Doubting Thomas, have a look at last month's G'day.

No, sorry, two other things. The book is published today only in Australia and New Zealand, I'm afraid. It will reach other parts of the world eventually, but I'm afraid I can't say exactly when because of a number of factors beyond my control including container vessel loading schedules, the speed at which translators work, currency fluctuations, the weather, ink supplies and what time the publishers in certain countries get back from lunch.

OK, now you can read chapter one.
